About Millennium Square
Millennium Square is Leeds’ award winning outdoor public space and live entertainment venue. Built as Leeds’ flagship project to mark the year 2000, the £12m scheme successfully transformed the old Mandela Gardens at the front of the Civic Hall into one of Europe’s most innovative multi-purpose city centre spaces.
Officially opened by Nelson Mandela in May 2001 it is widely renowned as a multi-functional live event venue and has a standing capacity of 8,000 persons in its concert configuration.
How to find Millennium Square
Millennium Square is located in the heart of the city within the civic quarter and is surrounded by some the city’s most influential and iconic buildings including Leeds Civic Hall, Leeds Town Hall, Leeds City Museum, Leeds General Infirmary and the Carriageworks Theatre/Electric Press development.
The venue is just a short walk away from Leeds Rail Station. A variety of nearby street and secure car parking options are also available.
