The countryside surrounding Leeds is stunning. It is simply made for outside activities of all types and is a magnet for outdoor pursuits enthusiasts. Yorkshire boasts national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty. Add in the rugged splendour of the Pennines and an attractive coastline too and almost every outdoor activity imaginable can be enjoyed in the county.

Outdoor Pursuits Yorkshire will recreate the great outdoors in an open air city centre location in Millennium Square Leeds from 17-19 August 2012. This three day extravaganza will showcase all that is best about the great outdoors and will appeal to hardcore outdoor enthusiasts as well as fair weather participants. There will be trade stands selling specialist kit and promoting activities to do and the square will be interspersed with a range of activities for visitors to have a go at.

Entry  is reasonably priced at just £5 for adults with children under 16 free (when accompanied by an adult). Once inside the square, all the activities are free to enjoy at no additional charge (subject to queuing) with the exception of the mobile zip wire which costs £1 per ride.

Millennium Square will be transformed into a giant play area for adults to enjoy as well as children! See activities for more details.

The Outdoor Pursuits brand was successfully launched in 2011 at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh attracting thousands of visitors. The success of Outdoor Pursuits Scotland, (which got bigger and better in 2012), has prompted the organisers to bring a tried and tested formula to Yorkshire. The only difference being that Outdoor Pursuits Yorkshire gives visitors a complete outside experience!
